This summer transfer window across Europe has started winding down and will officially close in major leagues like the Premier League, Ligue 1, and La Liga on October 5 (between 6 pm to 11 pm).
Hence, clubs are making last minutes efforts to acquire the players they can get before the transfer window closes. Though the coronavirus pandemic has hugely affected the revenues of most clubs and has prevented most clubs from spending, some clubs like Chelsea, Napoli, Bayern Munich, and Juventus have made a couple of big-money moves in the transfer market.
Below are the latest updates from the transfer market in the last 24 hours:
Callum Hudson-Odoi to Bayern Munich
There are strong reports that Bayern Munich wants the services of Chelsea’s 19-year-old England winger Callum Hudson-Odoi. The youngster has not been able to establish himself at Chelsea and the club’s fans have been having mixed feelings about his performance for the club. Hence, German Bundesliga champions want him on a season-long loan spell.
Ousmane Dembele’s transfer to Manchester United
Manchester United have been having a strong interest in Barcelona’s 23-year-old forward Ousmane Dembele but Barcelona are not willing to allow the French star to go this summer. Barcelona’s sporting director, Ramon Planes has made it clear that the Spanish club are not negotiating with United over Dembele’s transfer. Still, it has been reported that his national team-mate Paul Pogba has been trying to convince Dembele to join him at United.
Manchester United and Jadon Sancho’s transfer saga
At the start of this summer transfer window, it was understood that the manager of Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer regarded Jadon Sancho as the club’s top transfer priority. But Borussia Dortmund has made it almost impossible for the deal to scale through. Yet, Solskjaer is reportedly attempting a last-minute effort in making the deal possible. To achieve that, the coach reportedly intends to sell the club’s 22-year-old winger Daniel James in order to raise money for Sancho’s deal.
Meanwhile, newly promoted Premier League side, Leeds United that have been showing interest in signing James, have reportedly taken their desire to acquire the services of the winger to the next level by making a £25 million bid for James.
Marcos Alonso’s transfer saga
Marcos Alonso is gradually falling off Frank Lampard’s radar at Chelsea and Inter Milan want to be his savior but the Italian Serie A club want him on loan with an option to buy. On the contrary, Chelsea is not interested in a loan deal for the 29-year-old left-back. They want the Serie A side to sign Alonso on a permanent deal.
Reiss Nelson’s transfer saga
There have been speculations alleging that Crystal Palace are interested in Arsenal’s 20-year-old forward Reiss Nelson. However, the coach of Crystal Palace, Roy Hodgson, has made it cleared that he did not make any move for the English youngster.
Diogo Dalot’s transfer saga
Diogo Dalot is one of the underused youngsters at Manchester United. This has attracted interest from a couple of clubs across Europe. One of the clubs that seem to be set to fight until the last day is AC Milan. The latest reports suggest that the 21-year-old Portuguese right-back is already in talks with AC Milan.
Lucas Torreira is in Spain
Lucas Torreira is on the verge of completing his loan move from Arsenal to Atletico Madrid. The 24-year-old Uruguay midfielder is in Madrid, Spain capital, to seal the loan deal which comes with a purchase option for £18.1 million. Reports said the midfielder had medical with Atletico Madrid today, October 3.
Milan Skriniar transfer to Tottenham
Milan Skriniar has been on the transfer radar of Jose Mourinho for a couple of weeks now and it seems the Premier League club is on the verge of giving up on the chase. Reports say Tottenham will make their last offer for the 25-year-old Inter Milan’s Slovakia center-half this weekend before they would give up on the chase.
Harry Wilson’s transfer saga
Harry Wilson might not leave Liverpool as expected earlier in the transfer market. Liverpool placed a £15 million price-tag on him and the only club, Burnley, that has shown interest in the 23-year-old Wales winger seemed unwilling to meet the asking price despite the fact that the transfer window will close in two days time.
Matteo Darmian’s transfer to Inter Milan
Before the transfer window closes, Matteo Darmian would have been Inter Milan’s latest signing. The Italian club are on the verge of closing a deal with Parma which would see the 30-year-old Italian full-back join Milan for £1.81 million.
