Chelsea football club was not expected to do much last season because the club was not able to sign new players. To the dismay of the club’s critics, coach Frank Lampard was able to push his youngsters until they ended the 2019-2020 season on the 4th spot.
But this season is expected to be a different ball game because the club has already spent over £200 million in recruiting new players. Though the players need time to form a stronger bond, fans and critics of the club are already expecting Chelsea to take this season by storm.
In their opening Premier League match for the 2020-2021 season, Chelsea visited Brighton and defeated the host 3-1 on September 14. The reigning champions of the League, Liverpool, visited Stamford Bridge and ran away with a 2-0 victory on September 20.
On September 26, Frank Lampard and his men visited newly promoted West Brom, and the visitors were stunned in the first 27 minutes of the match. They ended the first half conceding 3 goals. However, the tides changed in the second half and the match ended 3-3.
