The value of Abraham who was not so active at Chelsea last season especially after the arrival of coach Thomas Tuchel is around £35 million. This means that the total worth of the transfer deal is £95 million.
Reports also speculate that the Premier League club that won the 2020-2021 UEFA Champions League has agreed personal terms with Erling Haaland. This means that once Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea agree on the transfer fee, the prolific striker will become the player of the Premier League club this summer.
The 20-year-old Norwegian striker was quoted as saying that his dream is to play in the Premier League. Hence, all things being equal, Chelsea might make that dream come to pass before the commencement of the 2021-2022 season.
Recall that Erling Haaland has always been on the wishlist of some of the best clubs in the world. Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester City have all shown interest in the football star.
It was reported earlier in the year that Real Madrid were waiting for the summer of 2022 before they will make an official bid for the striker. The Spanish side decided to adopt this strategy because of the €75 million release clause placed on his contract which will be due next summer.
But Chelsea are not ready to wait until 2022 summer to trigger the striker’s release clause. They are ready to push for the services of the striker this summer.
Why Chelsea want Erling Haaland so bad?
Erling Haaland won the Golden Boy award in 2020 due to the potentials of the football star. The 20-year-old striker is currently the captain of Norway due to how important he has been for the national team. He made his debut for the team on September 5, 2019. Since then, he has made 12 appearances in which he scored 7 goals.
More so, the fast-rising football star has been unstoppable since he joined Borussia Dortmund from RB Salzburg for a transfer fee worth €20 million on January 1, 2020.
Between 2020-2021, Erling Haaland scored 57 goals and provided 15 assists in 59 games. He ended the 2019-2020 Bundesliga season with 13 goals despite playing just 1,062 minutes. While in the 2020-2021 season, the striker scored 27 goals which made him the third-highest goalscorer in the league.
Based on how consistent he has been in terms of scoring goals, he is seen as the answer for Chelsea’s inability to score as many goals as possible. Recall that Chelsea bought Timo Werner last summer to score goals for the club but he has not been able to do much since his arrival.
Meanwhile, one of the biggest issues in the ongoing negotiations between Chelsea and the representatives of Erling Haaland is the demand which Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola made to Chelsea. He wants the Premier League club to include a buy-out clause that will enable him to sell the player for big money in the future.
Hence, once Borussia Dortmund accept Chelsea’s bid and the Premier League club reach a compromise with Haaland’s agent, the deal is as good as done and dusted.

It doesn't surprise me how successful we were with him in Salzburg. How he performed, how he dealt with setbacks…that's extraordinary.” pic.twitter.com/5VjApDvQKx
