Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club, simply known as Brighton, was one of those clubs that fought as hard as they could to remain in the Premier League last season. After a fierce battle, Brighton survived the drop and made do with the 15th spot on the league table.
At the end of the prolonged season, Brighton lost 15 matches, drew 14, and won only 9 Premier League games before the season ended. This performance was only enough to keep them just 7 points away from the relegation zone.
The 2019-2020 season is now history and everyone’s attention is fixed on the 2020-2021 season. Brighton manager Graham Potter has already started pushing his side to do better than the previous season.
Graham Potter and his boys started the 2020-2021 Premier League campaign on September 14 against Chelsea. Chelsea’s visit to Brighton’s American Express Community Stadium ended in a 1-3 victory for the visitors.
On September 17, Brighton went on to demolish Portsmouth 4-0 in the EFL Cup. Potter and his boys brought that form to the Premier League on September 20 to face Newcastle United. Brighton won the match 0-3.
September 26 was a date Potter and his boys would want to forget in a hurry. They welcomed Manchester United to their home turf and the dramatic Premier League encounter ended 3-2 in favor of the visitors.
Four days later, Brighton met with United again but this time around, it was in the round of 16 of the EFL Cup. United beat Brighton 0-3 to establish their dominance on Brighton.
