Paris Saint Germain are reportedly contemplating selling one of their star forwards – Neymar, Lionel Messi, or Kylian Mbappe before the end of this season. Reports in France are speculating that the French side are struggling financially to keep the three stars at the club.

Recall that Lionel Messi joined up with PSG in August 2021 after FC Barcelona failed to extend his contract. His union with Mbappe and Neymar gave PSG the most expensive and feared attack line in the world.

Reports claimed that Lionel Messi makes over £900,000-per-week at PSG. The same club pays Neymar £600,000-per-week. They also pay Mbappe over £400,000-per-week.

Despite the huge amount PSG are paying the superstar forwards, their partnership has not been as effective as it was projected to be. PSG are still struggling to win games.

Mbappe remains the most consistent player among the three superstars, especially in the league. He has been the only one among the three stars that still scores in almost every matchday.

Unfortunately for PSG, Mbappe is currently having less than a season left on his contract with PSG. The 22-year-old French striker wants to join Real Madrid and the Spanish club are interested in signing the Frenchman.

Despite the number of times Real Madrid tried to pay for Mbappe’s services last summer, PSG stood their ground saying they intend to keep Mbappe at the club a bit longer.

As for Neymar, a report by British publication, Dailystar, claimed that PSG are preparing to offer Neymar to his former club, FC Barcelona. Recall that Neymar joined PSG from FC Barcelona in 2017 for a world transfer fee.

Before Lionel Messi left Barcelona for PSG, there were reports that Neymar wanted to return to Barca. However, the report was truncated when the Brazilian forward renewed his stay at the French side.

As it stands, Neymar looked like the most likely player that might be forced to leave the club due to his inconsistency and injury woes.

However, Lionel Messi seemed to be having a terrible time in the league so far. The 34-year-old Argentine football icon has not scored any French Ligue 1 goal since he joined PSG in August. He has however scored three times in the Champions League for PSG.

The retired Brazil international believes that Neymar is more technically gifted than Lionel Messi and Ronaldo. He however urged Neymar to be more responsible.

“Neymar is technically better than Messi, better than Cristiano Ronaldo, but he must assume the responsibility of a leader,” Cafu told Marca.

“One must dedicate themselves 100 percent to football, I’m not better than Neymar, but I am better than other right-backs because I dedicated myself to that.

“He [Neymar] has to become a captain.”
