Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne set a new Premier League record as Manchester City eased past Nottingham Forest with a 2-0 victory in the Premier League on Sunday, April 28.

The Belgium international hogged the headlines again with a double assist to inspire City to a crucial victory over the Tricky Trees.

He set up the first goal for defender Josko Gvardiol and did the same for the second goal by Erling Haaland.

According to football statisticians, OptaJoe, Kevin De Bruyne’s double assist against Nottingham Forest made the Belgian the first Premier League footballer to record as high as 18 double assists in a match.

The incredible feat came amidst the Belgian’s injury struggles this season. He went into the Nottingham Forest game with 16 assists in 21 matches before reaching the incredible career milestone.

The 32-year-old will hope to continue on his terrific form as Manchester City battle for their fourth consecutive Premier League title.

The win against Nottingham Forest saw the Manchester club close the gap on league leaders Arsenal to a point with a game in hand.

Should the Cityzens pip Arsenal to win the 2023/24 Premier League title, they will become the first team in Premier League history to win the elite club trophy four times on the bounce.

De Bruyne is expected to play a big role as the Premier League and European champions continue their push for the title.
