Manchester City Goalkeeper, Ederson Moraes Reveals His Phone Number Was Leaked Before Playing Against Tottenham Hotspur


    Ederson Moraes has revealed his phone number was leaked ahead of Manchester City’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

    The Cityzens picked up an important 2-0 win over Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, to put themselves in pole position of winning an unprecedented 4th consecutive Premier League title.

    Erling Haaland netted both goals for Manchester City, scoring in the 51st minute, before netting his second of the night via the spot in the 1st minute of added time.

    Goalkeeper Ederson Moraes was substituted in the second period, briefly after a collision with Cristian Romero.

    Ederson was furious at being removed from the game, and he was seen arguing with Guardiola and subsequently kicking the floor.

    Ederson Moraes was also seen teary on the bench, as second-choice goalie Stefan Ortega came on to replace him.

    It has emerged that the keeper had to battle with his phone number being leaked ahead of the encounter.

    Following the intense clash, Ederson posted a screenshot of messages on his phone from Arsenal supporters.

    The Brazilian also stated: “My number was leaked, and I had some funny messages.”

    In the text sent to him, one sent him a warning against conceding through errors, while also indicating their support for Arsenal.

    The comment reads: “Don’t let in any howlers tonight you s******. Up the Arsenal.”

    Another also wrote: “ARSENAL ARSENAL ARSENAL ARSENAL.”

    One simply commented: “Good luck”

    Ederson was superb before being hauled off for Ortega in the 69th minute of the game against Tottenham Hotspur due to injury as aforementioned.

    Stefan Ortega was also sublime after replacing the Brazilian, as he made important saves to deny Dejan Kulusevski and Son Heung-Min from dragging Spurs back into the affair.

    The 2-0 win for the Cityzens meant that they would win the English Premier League title for the fourth season in a row if they get a win over West Ham United on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

    Will Ederson play against West Ham United?

    It is uncertain if Ederson will start the game against the Hammers, although he is expected to shake off the knock and feature for the Cityzens in next to no time.

    Ortega is also a good enough deputy, who can come in and man the post excellently, as he has done in recent seasons for Manchester City.

    Meanwhile, Ederson Moraes, 30, joined Manchester City from SL Benfica on January 1, 2017, for a fee of €40 million.

    Ederson has made 332 appearances for the Cityzens, keeping an amazing tally of 155 clean sheets.

    The Brazilian has practically won every trophy at Manchester City, including; 5 Premier League titles, 1 UEFA Champions League, and 1 FIFA Club World Cup.

    He is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He is known for his reflexes, physical strength, shot-stopping, and ball-playing ability.
