Football Stars And Their Fathers Who Have Featured At International Level

Football stars that are currently playing for their national teams have in the past watched their fathers do same for their respective countries at the international level.

We know of some popular football stars and their dads such as Lilian Thuram with his two sons as well as Alf-Inge Haaland and Erling, however, that is not all.

There are so many players who have seen their fathers play at the international level and are now all grown up and doing the same at the same level as their fathers.

Futballnews brings you some of these players and their fathers as well as their respective national teams – I am certain you’d be shocked by some of the revelations.

Carlos and Alexis Mac Allister

Alexis Mac Allister is the son of Carlos Javier “Colo” Mac Allister, who is an Argentine politician and former footballer who played as a center-back for the Argentina national team.

We know this will come as a shock to you as the Liverpool star’s father has barely been in the spotlight recently, however, during his time, he played as a left-back for Argentina.

Badri and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Another surprising player on our Football Stars list is Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who is the son of former Azerbaijan national team player Badri Kvaratskhelia.

We have lately been seeing all that Napoli’s winger Kvaratskhelia has been doing in the Serie A and his national team, but very few knew his father was also a footballer.

Souleymane Jean Sané and Leroy Sané

Another shocking revelation is Bayern Munich and Germany star Leroy Sane, who is the son of Souleymane Jean Sané, a Senegalese former professional footballer who played as a striker.

While many know about Leroy Sane, who has shown his footballing abilities in England and Germany, very few know his father was a former striker who played for the Senegal national team.

Enrico Chiesa and Federico Chiesa

Well, this is not as shocking as the last three we have on our list, as many people are in the know that Enrico Chiesa is the father of Juventus Federico Chiesa.

Chiesa’s father, Enrico, was also a professional footballer; he played for various Serie A clubs, most notably Parma, Fiorentina and Siena, and represented the Italy national team.

Lilian Thuram and his sons Marcus and Khephren

Ruddy Lilian Thuram-Ulien is a French former professional footballer who was born on 1 January, 1972 and played as a defender – but unlike others mentioned above, he and his boys are quite famous.

The former French player is the father of Marcus (born 6 August 1997) and Khéphren (born 26 March 2001), and both are professional footballers.

Alfie and Erling Haaland

Well, we all know that Erling Haaland is the son of the Norwegian former footballer Alfie Haaland and former women’s heptathlon athlete Gry Marita Braut.

Though Alfie Haaland played as a defensive midfielder, his son Erling Haaland has been in massive form since his professional debut and plays majorly as a center forward.

Peter and Kasper Schmeichel

Peter Schmeichel is the father of Kasper Schmeichel, a professional footballer who plays goalkeeper for the Belgian Pro League team Anderlecht and for the Denmark national team since 2013.

Just like Lilian Thuram and his two boys, the former Manchester United legend is well known as well as his son Kasper – who helped Leicester City win fairy tale Premier League in 2016.

Claudio and Giovanni Reyna

Giovanni is the son of former Rangers, Sunderland, Manchester City, New York Red Bulls, and United States player Claudio Reyna, and Danielle Reyna, a former member of the United States women’s national soccer team.

Another one of our football stars who many sports lover did not know their father played for the same national team they are currently playing for.

Reyna is of Argentine-Portuguese descent through father’s parents and of Irish-American descent through his mother and he was born in Sunderland, England, while his father was playing for Sunderland.

Abedi Pele and sons André and Jordan Ayew

Abedi Pele is the father of French Ligue 1 side Le Havre’s star André Morgan Rami Ayew and Premier League side Crystal Palace’s winger Jordan Pierre Ayew.

Abedi Ayew, who is known professionally as Abedi Pele, is a Ghanaian former footballer who played as an attacking midfielder and served as captain of the Ghana national team.
