One man that is not having it funny in the ongoing coronavirus lockdown is Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard who arrived in the capital of Spain in 2019 a little fatter than he was while playing in Chelsea football club before his €100 million deal.

It is a general belief among some Real Madrid fans that Eden Hazard has not been able to give his best to the club because of his growing physical structure.

Besides that, the Belgium international has been struggling with a series of injuries. In fact, he has been recovering from a calf injury since February, weeks before footballing actions were halted across Europe due to the coronavirus pandemic.

While people in Spain are worried about how to survive the dreaded pandemic which has infected over 166,000 and killed almost 17,000 people in Spain alone, Eden Hazard is worried about his eating habit.

He told RTBF that it has been so difficult for him to keep his hands off buns and he has been using the help of a physio who has been helping him via the internet.

The 29-year-old Real Madrid star said: “It’s complicated for me. I’m trying not to eat a lot. I’m trying not to go into the pantry to eat a lot of buns, but it’s not easy.

“I’m working with the physio online. He can’t come here anymore because he fell ill and has to stay at home.

“We started 10 days ago, but he sends me videos from home. I’m working to strengthen my ankle and I’m doing what I can from home.”

Besides using the coronavirus break to fight his bad eating habit and trying to keep fit, Eden Hazard has also been using the break to teach his children some football skills.

“I can’t teach them much. I’m working with a leg and a half, but I’m trying to improve them a little bit anyway with the technique”, he said.

“Here in Madrid, the news is not a terrible thing. But hey, it’s good and we have a garden and I think there are many people who are having a worse time.

“We do what we can and we play a lot in the garden and the children follow school online. As I say, we can’t complain.”
