Real Madrid legendary left-back Marcelo Vieira shared a photo on his Instagram page to tell his over 44 million Instagram followers how to make the best out of the coronavirus lockdown which has paralysed almost all social engagements in the world.

The coronavirus pandemic which started in Wuhan, China in December 2019, has infected close to 1.5 million people globally and has resulted in the deaths of 85, 522 people according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Due to the impact of the disease, major football leagues and other social activities have been halted across the world but the Real Madrid star wants his fans not to halt their ability to think.

“Stay home and think”, the 31-year-old Brazilian International captioned the picture he shared recently.

Marcelo loves his dog

Besides keeping in touch with his fans via social media, another thing the Real Madrid defender is using the lockdown period to do is to spend some quality time with his dog.

In one of the most recent pictures he shared on Instagram, Marcelo Vieira could be seen posing with his dog at his palatial home in Brazil. “Barking and Talking”, he captioned the picture.

The Brazilian is one of the most respected players in Real Madrid, a club he has been a part of since 2006 from Brazilian club Fluminense.

Marcelo has so far won 21 trophies including four UEFA Champions Leagues as well as four La Liga titles. He has been named to the FIFPro World XI six times, the UEFA Team of the Year three times and La Liga’s Team of the Season in 2016.

The Real Madrid defender is married to his longtime sweetheart Clarice Alves. They got married in 2008. The marriage is blessed with two boys – Enzo Gattuso Alves Vieira (24 September 2009) and Liam (1 September 2015).

Besides being a Portuguese-Brazilian, he attained Spanish citizenship in 2011 due to his longevity and achievements in the country.
