Former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea could return to action soon as he drops a teaser on a potential comeback on social media.

Sharing footage of him training at non-league side Altrincham’s training ground, the Man United legend could be seen trying to keep himself in shape as he prepares for the next challenge.

The footage came a few days after he dropped a three-word teaser on his social media handle to signal his possible return to action again.

In the teaser, the Spaniard wrote, “I’ll be back,” and added footage of him training to put himself through necessary paces and tick the boxes on his goalkeeping skills.

It is almost a year since De Gea tasted competitive football action. He has been clubless for almost an entire season after his acrimonious exit from Manchester United.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag decided to part ways with the Spaniard on his wedding day after he refused to sign a contract renewal proposal that was doctored twice by the club.

After the infamous Old Trafford exit, the 33-year-old has been linked to a number of clubs but has failed to strike a deal with any.

Inter Milan came calling for his services but the two parties could not reach an agreement with the Spaniard said to be unfazed by the Nerazurri’s wage offer.

He was also linked to a move to Al-Nassr – a transfer that would have seen him reunite with former teammate and fellow United legend Cristiano Ronaldo but he turned down the offer.

A return to the Premier League was also on the cards for the 2022/23 Premier League Golden Glove winner. Newcastle United were reportedly interested in a move for him due to Nick Pope’s injury before the rumors was subsequently quashed.

Despite going clubless for almost a year, the former Spain international is not ready to call it a quit and is still hopeful of returning to action soon.

He is currently linked to a return to his homeland, Spain. LaLiga club Real Betis are reportedly interested in his services.

With major leagues in Europe rounding off league action soon, De Gea may not resume action this season but next season unless he opts for a move away from the shores of Europe.

De Gea left Manchester United after 12 years. He won one Premier League title, two FA Cups, two EFL Cups, three Community Shields, and one Europa League with the club.
