Former Barcelona right-back Dani Alves has hinted on finishing his football career in Argentine Boca Juniors club side. The 36-year-old Brazilian player is known to have a great penchant for the Argentine club and he would not mind retiring at the club.
Although, Alves has not been opportune to play for the Argentine club before, however, he can’t hide his interest in the club. He has always shown his admiration for the Argentine club despite being a Brazilian. Alves disclosed this on Instagram when he was asked about retiring in Boca Juniors.
He said: “You know the love I have for Boca and it’s not because of what people say or because they’re a big club: I’ve always noticed something different about them.
“There are some situations that define you. “I’m in the temple of world football,” he said on that occasion. “I’m a Boca fan, motherf***er!”
The Brazilian defender who is currently trading his fortune with home country club Sao Paulo might be making a move for Boca Juniors soon, apparently when football resumes from the coronavirus lockdown break.
It would be nice to remember that Alves had the most successful point of his career when he was still in Europe. The Brazilian offensive right-back played in about three leagues in Europe before he bid a farewell to the continent of Europe in 2019.
Dani Alves began to trade in Europe when he signed for Sevilla in 2002. At that time, Sevilla paid a transfer fee of about £500k to sign the Brazilian player from his home country club Bahia. Alves played in Sevilla for about six years before Barcelona showed their interest in the star man. Reasonably, a £35 million deal was completed between Barcelona and Sevilla to land the Brazilian man in the Catalan club.
Of all the clubs Alves played for in Europe, the most successful point of his career was achieved in Barcelona. Between 2008 to 2016, he won three Champions League trophy with Barcelona and several Cups in the Spanish division. Upon the expiration of his contract with Barcelona in 2016, Alves joined Juventus on a free transfer, he was in Italy capital for a season before he moved to Paris Saint-Germain also on a free transfer in 2017. He played in Ligue 1 for about two seasons before he made way for his home country club Sao Paulo in 2019.
He has however hinted that he won’t end his career in Sao Paulo but would not mind ending his career in Boca Juniors.
