Barcelona might be forced to cut their loss on Brazilian player Philippe Coutinho with Chelsea not backing out of talks for the Brazilian player. New reports emerged that Chelsea is willing to offer Philippe Coutinho a deal that will bring him to Premier League during the next transfer window in summer.
Coutinho shocked the world in 2018 after he signed a deal worth £145 million with Barcelona. However, the former Liverpool player did not have a pleasant stay in Camp Nou which caused him to be sent out on loan to Bayern Munich.
One of the reasons why Barcelona made move for Philippe Coutinho in 2018 was for him to be a replacement for Neymar Jr who left the Catalan club in 2017. Meanwhile, Coutinho, on the other hand, is looking at every opportunity for him to play in a top club where he can stand a chance of winning big trophies.
However, Barcelona and Coutinho were both disappointed, Coutinho did not impress the Camp Nou bosses while Barcelona also didn’t win any major trophy since Coutinho joined the team. Apparently, both the team and the player did not get what they expected, hence, it becomes compelling that they go separate ways.
Before now, there have been speculations that Liverpool and Chelsea are trying to get the signature of the Brazilian star player. However, Liverpool’s boss, Jurgen Klopp has disclosed that Philippe Coutinho is now past and the club is not looking forward to bring him back to the club.
Apparently, Chelsea is the only Premier League club working round the clock to seal a deal with Barcelona to bring Coutinho into the club. What is worthy of note is that Barcelona will have to cut their loss on the Brazilian because he is currently worth about £56 million which is about to three times below the amount Barcelona paid to get the player.
