Wilfred Ndidi, Leicester City midfielder, has warned his Super Eagles colleagues not to pick out a specific Ghana player, but to be cautious of the entire group.

The West African nations will compete later this month for a spot in the global showpiece, which will be held in Qatar later this year.

Austin Eguavoen’s side will meet the Black Stars in Cape Coast on March 25 before hosting them four days later at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in a rematch.

Wilfred Ndidi is part of the group that has been invited to the important matches, and he expects a tough battle if the three-time African champions are to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.

Ndidi told ESPN: “It will mean a lot for us to go back to the World Cup.”

“But Ghana will not be easy. To be honest, we have to be careful about their whole team and not just any specific players. It will be two tough games.”

Ndidi has established himself as a dominant fixture in Brendan Rodgers’ club, just as he has in the national team.

On February 17, he made his 200th appearance for Leicester City, scoring a goal in a 4-1 win over Randers in the Uefa Europa Conference League.

“When I joined, I didn’t think of anything [like this]. I just wanted to play football, but with prayer, hard work, and believing in myself, I think that is what has helped me.

“And it also helps when you have a great manager that understands you, teammates that you enjoy being around, the culture of the club and the fans. It all makes it easier to focus and just play.”

The former Genk player is in line to make his 18th Premier League appearance when Leicester City takes on Leeds United at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
