A video has surfaced showing England coach Gareth Southgate talking to Saka, Sancho, and Rashford to take the penalty before England lost to Italy in the Euro 2020 finals.
Rashford, Saka, and Sancho stepped up to take the penalty, but they failed to score. As a result, Italy won the penalty shoot-out and became the EURO 2020 champion.
This video has renewed the criticism of Gareth Southgate’s decision on the penalty takers for England. Some fans thought Raheem Sterling, Jack Grealish, or other senior players should have been approached to take the Penalty rather than the 19 years old Bukayo Saka.
This video shows Southgate going to each player to tell them they’ll be taking the penalty today. Grealish was there, but Southgate did not ask him to be part of the first five players who would take the England penalty.
