Fulham are considering signing German forward Timo Werner from RB Leipzig to beef up their attacking department.

Werner has been watched closely by the Premier League club in recent months and they are looking at bringing him over to Craven Cottage.

The Cottagers are looking at doing a deal for the German forward in the January transfer window, but they are expected to face some obstacles in the process.

What could hamper Fulham in signing Timo Werner?

Marco Silva’s side are scared that they may be priced out of a potential deal, with Timo Werner’s wages being at about £150,000 per week.

RB Leipzig would have to pay a part of his salary for a possible loan move in January 2024 to even come to fruition.

Fulham are hoping that Werner’s salary can be subsidized in order for a direct loan move to become possible.

However, the Cottagers are also reportedly looking at alternatives before coming back to focus fully on a deal for Timo Werner.

Reports indicate that Fulham are eyeing Club Brugge attacker, Antonio Nusa, who is also a subject of interest from Chelsea.

The 18-year-old has been remarkable for the Belgian club, scoring 5 goals and providing 4 assists in 53 appearances.

The Norway International joined Club Brugge from Stabæk on August 31, 2021, for a fee of €3 million.

The 27-year-old didn’t have the best of times in England, but he contributed his quota to the success of the Blues whilst he was with the club.

He won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup at Chelsea.

Werner scored 23 goals and provided 21 assists in 89 appearances for the Stamford Bridge club.

The Cottagers had to sell Aleksander Mitrovic to Al Hilal in the summer of 2023 after the player indicated his desire to exit the club.

Raul Jimenez, who was signed as a replacement for the Serbian striker has scored just one league goal this season.

That goal came on November 12, 2023, just before the international break, a consolation goal for the Cottagers in a 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa.

Marco Silva’s side return to action on November 27, 2023, with a league game at Craven Cottage against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
