Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry has stressed that Daniel Ek’s dream of buying Arsenal was still intact even though the noise about it has died down.

Daniel Ek has been trying to buy Arsenal since last season. He has made offers that the owner of the London-based club, Stan Kroenke had rejected.

The last bid the Swedish billionaire made was worth £1.8 billion. He made the offer in May 2021 but according to Thierry Henry, Kroenke is yet to respond to the offer.

Despite that, the founder of Spotify is positive that he would get his wish to own the Premier League club which he has been supporting from childhood.

On Sunday, September 27, Daniel Ek followed Thierry Henry to the Emirates Stadium to watch Arsenal’s Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Fortunately for the Swedish billionaire and the Arsenal legend, Arsenal beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 to win the North London Derby.

Even though Arsenal’s founder is yet to react to Daniel Ek’s last bid, the Spotify founder believes that the bid is compelling enough to make Kroenke hand over Arsenal to him.

Recall that when the Swedish billionaire made the first attempt to buy Arsenal, he got the support of three Arsenal legends – Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, and Dennis Bergkamp.

The three legends are expected to play major roles in the day-to-day running of the club if the club’s current owner sells it to Daniel Ek.

On a Sky Sports show on Monday after Thierry Henry and Daniel witnessed Arsenal’s 3-1 win victory over Tottenham, the French legend revealed that there was no dialogue between Daniel and Kroenke.

“To be able to get there, you need to have someone respond on the other side,” Henry said. “It hasn’t happened yet, but we and he is here to stay.

“So, let’s see what’s going to happen. But for the moment, we enjoyed the win yesterday.

“There’s no dialogue at the moment and I feel it’s going to be a long process. I said this the last time I was on the show [in May]. How long it’s going to be, I don’t actually know. But we are here to stay.”

Thierry Henry played for Arsenal between 1999 and 2007. During his time at the club, he won three Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and two FA Community Shield.

Henry is Arsenal’s all-time leading scorer with 228 goals in all competitions. He won the Premier League Golden Boot a record four times. He retired at Arsenal in 2012 after spells at Barcelona and New York Red Bulls.
