In an awkward second-half challenge, Rodrigo Bentancur came out second-best through a collision with an opposition player who caused him to be seriously injured.
The Uruguayan fell on the floor, holding his chest, while having a hard time breathing. The game was stopped immediately as the incident led to panic. Medics rushed into the pitch area to give him emergency treatment.
The medical team quickly attended to Bentancur, who was later carted off and supposedly taken for further tests at a nearby hospital. Test results showed that the player had a head injury that was out of danger.
