The manager of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has insisted that he is not under pressure to beat Liverpool later today, April 10, 2022, noting that Liverpool have the best movement in football.

At 16:30 today, Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp will face each other for the 22nd time in their coaching career. In their subsequent meetings, from their days in German Bundesliga to now in the Premier League, Klopp has claimed 9 victories over Pep while the Spanish coach has also claimed 9 victories over the German coach.

Out of their 22 meetings, the coaches have shared points four times but today’s Super Sunday clash is expected to produce a straight win for either City or Liverpool.

The Premier League game is expected to be an encounter that might decide the team that would win this season league title. This is so because only a point separates Manchester City from Liverpool.

Note that City are currently occupying the first spot with 73 points in 30 games. While Liverpool are second with 72 points in 30 games.

If Manchester City beat Liverpool tonight, Pep Guardiola and his boys would have four points more than Liverpool. On the other hand, if Liverpool manage to beat Manchester City, Liverpool would be ahead by 2 points.

Despite what is at stake in the game that will take place at City’s Etihad Stadium, Pep Guardiola said he is not bothered about the outcome of the game, adding that whatever happens, another season is coming for City to try again.

Coach Guardiola asked: “What can happen? Lose a game? And lose the Premier League title? Then we’ll just try again next year.”

“People say it, and it’s true – in life, there are more important things,” he told Sky Sports News. “I will be sad if we lose a game not being ourselves. But if we are who we are and the opponent can win – it’s ok. We are fortunate to live in this moment. Maybe I should feel the pressure now, but I don’t.”

Ahead of the Premier League game between Manchester City and Liverpool, City’s coach, Pep Guardiola stressed that he and his team had to prepare specially for the crucial Premier League clash.

The Spanish tactician who has coached FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich before he took over at Manchester City in 2016, said he had to acquire about the Manchester City vs Liverpool clash two to three months after the commencement of the 2021-2022 season.

Even though his team is regarded as one of the best teams in the world, Guardiola took out time to acknowledge the superstar strikers at Liverpool including the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino.

The Spanish coach acknowledged the fact that Liverpool have the best movement in the world of football which is why Manchester City had to prepare specially for the Sunday clash.

Pep Guardiola said: “In the beginning of the season and then two or three months ago, I said, ‘what date is Liverpool? When do we play against them?

“Of course, everything is different because we know it’s seven games left and we are only one point ahead.

“Winning will not be enough, but it will be an important step. And we know… ‘wow, this is the game’. You know it, we know it. So I’m not going to deny it’s different from any other game. And the preparations are a bit different, you know, especially because they do something that no other team all around the world do – the movement they have.

“The threats that they have in front – they had an incredible three players (Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino) and now an incredible five with Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota. Plus Divock Origi always scores when they need to make decisive goals.

“We don’t have a proper striker, but it is what it is. We still score a lot of goals in our way, we still concede few, so we’re going to continue to do it.

“We have to work on what we need to do, to talk about it and prepare for it. But in the end, I still sleep, wake up in the morning, have breakfast, lunch, dinner.”
