Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba who has been injured since December 2019 says he has started touching the ball and the injuries he had suffered have made him a hungrier footballer.

The 27-year-old FIFA World Cup-winning midfielder last appeared in Manchester United‘s 4-1 Premier League win over Newcastle United on Boxing Day, but missed subsequent matches due to ankle injury which sidelined him until the coronavirus pandemic interrupted the season.

Pogba had the opportunity to tell the world how frustrating it has been for him when he appeared on Manchester United‘s official podcast during the weekend.

The French International told his fans that he was already training and getting set to join other members of the team when the coronavirus break is over.

He said: “I’ve been frustrated, a long time ago. Now I’m almost there, so I’m just thinking about getting back and training fully with the team and everything.

“You think bad but I’ve never had something like this in my career, so I always take it in a good way. It makes me more hungry to come back and do well and, yeah, it just shows me as well how much I love football.”

While giving details about his series of injuries, he said most people did not know what really happened to him. He then narrated how he developed foot injury early in the season and how he tried to continue playing despite the injury.

Pogba noted that he only discovered that he had already developed a fracture when he stopped playing football.

“I had a cast on it, a plaster-cast, so it went very well but too well. The bone got bigger and so, when I came back again, I played those two games against Watford and Newcastle, I could feel something again” he said.

“So I had to have an operation and now here I am. I don’t feel anything and, hopefully, I’ll be back very soon.”

Paul Pogba joined Manchester United from Juventus for a then world-record fee worth £89.3 million. In his first season, he won the League Cup and the Europa League.

Since 2016, the midfielder has played for Manchester United 99 times and scored 24 times for the red devils.
