Oleh Danchenko, a Ukrainian Defender was said to have died during a training session but was revived afterward.
The tragedy happened while the 28-year-old was at a training session in Turkey. He was on loan from AEK Athens to Zorya Luhansk.
As medical personnel raced to help him, Danchenko, a former Shakhtar Donetsk player who had competed in the Champions League, fell and experienced a heart attack.
According to Skai, a defibrillator was available at the scene for use on Danchenko by the members of the Austrian team.
He lay “dead” and without a pulse for a while, so it seemed to be failing.
He was eventually revived and transported by ambulance to an intensive care unit.
Shakhtar released the following on social media: “We wish Oleh Danchenko a speedy recovery 🙏.”
“Former player of Shakhtar have experienced clinical death at the training camp in Turkey.”
“Stay strong, we are with you 🧡”.
Danchenko’s terrifying health concern occurs only a year after the tragic death of his wife Viktoria in a vehicle accident at the age of 27.
When their Kia Cerato hit a truck and crashed a barrier on a highway, Oleh was also in the vehicle with her.
Tragically, Viktoria passed away at the scene of the accident.
Three years after they first connected on a train in 2017, the pair got hitched and stayed together untill her sudden demise.

Danchenko is a product of FC Metalurh Zaporizhya’s junior squad systems.
On March 22, 2014, he made his FC Chornomorets debut against SC Tavriya Simferopol in a Ukrainian Premier League match.
He signed a deal with Shakhtar Donetsk in February 2016, however he continued to play on loan for FC Chornomorets for the duration of the six-month period.
He was assigned to FC Yenisey Krasnoyarsk on loan for the end of the 2018–19 campaign on January 31, 2019.
He committed to Rubin Kazan for four years on June 15, 2019.
The Russian Premier League imposed a new maximum of 8 foreign players for the 2020–21 season; the team was not required to register with the league.
He joined Ufa on loan with a buy option on August 15, 2020.
Danchenko officially signed with AEK Athens on January 31, 2021, for a deal that would last through the summer of 2024.
His wife passed away in a car accident the same day he signed his contract with Zorya Luhansk, on January 14, 2022.
