Chelsea star Noni Madueke clashed with referee Craig Pawson for chalking off the club’s late-winner against Aston Villa in Premier League matchday 34 clash.

Chelsea settled for a 2-2 draw against the Unai Emery-led side at Villa Park but the game was mired in controversy.

Marc Cucurella mistakenly put the ball in his own net to give Aston Villa the lead in the 4th minute before the hosts consolidated the lead with Roger’s 42nd-minute goal.

Trailing 2-0 in the first half, Chelsea fought back to level terms through Noni Madueke and Conor Gallagher before Axel Disasi scored a stoppage-time winner that was chalked off.

Craig Pawson originally blew the whistle, allowing Axel Disasi’s winner to stand but was summoned by VAR officials for a review of the decision.

After a lengthy check of the pitchside monitor, Pawson chalked off the goal for Benoit Badiashile’s alleged foul on Diego Carlos in the buildup.

Noni Madueke was infuriated by Pawson’s decision to disallow the goal. He stormed towards the official and shouted, ‘It’s wrong. You know is wrong. It’s a goal.”

The situation nearly spiraled out of control before Madueke’s Chelsea teammates intervened and cordoned off the player from Craig Pawson.

Meanwhile, the intervention came a bit late as Paw Dawson slammed a yellow card on the player for apparent dissent and aggression.

After the match, Noni Madueke was asked whether he still believes Axel Disasi’s goal should have stood, and he responded in the affirmative.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino was also furious with the decision to disallow the goal. Poch insisted Badiashile’s challenge on Carlos was not a foul, hence the goal should have stood.
