Newcastle United are reportedly planning to tempt Paris Saint Germain talisman, Kylian Mbappe to the Premier League next summer.
The 22-year-old French striker has less than a season left on his contract with PSG and does not plan to renew his stay at the club even though the club is determined to keep him.
Kylian Mbappe’s dream is to play for Real Madrid and the Spanish giants tried all they could last summer to bring him to Spain but PSG turned down all their offers.
Hence, Real Madrid are waiting for next summer when Mbappe’s contract with PSG will officially expire. When that happens, the Frenchman will join any club of his choice on a free transfer.
Just like how Real Madrid are waiting for next summer to bring Kylian Mbappe to Spain so are Newcastle United according to reports in France.
Recall that Newcastle United are now under new owners who are reportedly worth over £320 billion which means that there might be a lot of money to spend on the coming transfer windows.
A report by a publication in the United Kingdom, Express, claimed that a French football legend Emmanuel Petit said Mbappe could be one of the A-list signings Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe might make next summer.
“Anything can happen. We see what’s happened with Newcastle United – there have been rumors, and you never know what’s going to happen at the end of the day. Things can turn very easily and very quickly”, Petit told Gambling.com as quoted by Express.
“I think he’s been frustrated and tired by the situation at PSG over the past year.
“We’ve seen some trouble on the pitch between players both at Paris Saint-Germain and the national team, which was reflective in his game and his mood.”
Though Newcastle United have the money to bring Kylian Mbappe to the Premier League, the 22-year-old Frenchman who is regarded as one of the best players in the world would not want to leave a star-studded PSG for Newcastle United.
Mbappe is currently in a squad that has the potential of winning any tournament. Hence, if he wants to leave such a squad, he would go to a club that has similar potential.
The unfortunate part is that Newcastle United are struggling to survive relegation while PSG are currently topping the Ligue 1 table and already in the UEFA Champions League round of 16.
Hence, if PSG are unable to convince Kylian Mbappe to stay in Paris, his next move will be to join Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer. Being a Real Madrid player has always been his dream and Madrid are ready to have him ahead of the 2022-2023 season.
