Kylian Mbappe scored four goals in France’s 8-0 demolition of Kazakhstan on Saturday, November 13. The victory was all France needed to book a place in the 2022 Qatar World World.

France are among the first three European countries that have sealed themselves a place in the prestigious tournament. Recall that Germany were the first European side to qualifier for the World Cup in September. They are now joined by France and Belgium in November.

Most of the countries contending for a spot in the tournament might know their fate between November 16 and 17, 2021 while others might have to wait for a play-off.

In the World Cup qualification match between France and Kazakhstan, Kylian Mbappe was the first to open the scoring in the 6th minute. The 22-year-old France international made it 2-0 in the 12th minute.

Before the end of the first half, Mbappe had already scored three goals which happened to be his first hat-trick for France’s senior national team.

Apart from that, no other player scored in the first half which made it purely Kylian Mbappe’s first half. Karim Benzema joined the party in the second half. He scored two goals in the space of four minutes.

France’s Adrien Rabiot made it 7-0 in the 75th minute while Antoine Griezmann scored from the spot to make it 8-0 in the 84th minute.

The 8-0 win left France on the first spot of Group D with 15 points in 7 games, 4 points above second-placed Finland. This means that even if France are defeated in their last World Cup qualification game against Finland on November 16, they will still finish top of the group.

After booking a place among the 32-teams that will fight for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Coach Didier Deschamps who led the country to win the 2018 edition of the tournament said he decided to use formation 3-4-3 against Kazakhstan to achieve the qualification.

The formation did not only qualify France for the World Cup, it gave Kylian Mbappe more independence in the country’s attack.

“The aim was to qualify, but we did it in style too and you could see the enjoyment the players got from playing together and how they shared things, notably the forwards,” Deschamps told French television.

“It’s good, everyone got their slice of the cake. It’s a result that rewards everything we did well in both halves. The risk at halftime is to drop off a bit, but we continued, that’s also about respecting your opponent.”

On France’s drive to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Mbappe who was part of the team that won the last edition of the tournament described the opportunity of playing in the World Cup as an ultimate dream.

“We wanted to give ourselves a chance to defend our title”, Paris Saint Germain striker said. “Even for those who have played in it and won it, it’s an ultimate dream to play in a World Cup.

“The fans enjoyed it, so did we. We respected the game and our opponents. We wanted to keep going right to the end.”

Mbappe is really a talented player who is very technical,he always deliver for clubs and country which is why I like him so much.He should keep it up and I believe the sky will be the limit for him,he will really achieve greatness if he didn’t relent.
