Marseille central midfielder, Matteo Guendouzi and his wife, Mae Rfsk marked the first year birthday of their daughter, Mayleen on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
The Arsenal midfielder who is currently on loan at Marseille took to his Instagram page with 975,000 followers to share pictures from the birthday celebration.
In the first slide of the Instagram post, Matteo Guendouzi and his wife could be seen posing in front of a beautifully designed birthday cake. The French footballer acted like a perfect gentleman by carrying Mayleen while Mae Rfsk held tightly to them with a big smile.
While in the second slide, Guendouzi, who had a troubled period at Arsenal under coach Mikel Arteta, was seen carrying his daughter while he watched her attempt to take a bite of a piece of cake.
In the caption, the 23-year-old French midfielder wrote in French: “1 year of my Princess, I love you my daughter”, with a red heart love emoji.
Also, Matteo Guendouzi’s wife, Mae Rfsk, took to her Instagram page with 10.9 thousand followers to share the same set of pictures to mark Mayleen’s first birthday.
On her part, Mae Rfsk who is a French lady decided to write her caption in English which read: “We love you more than life” with an emoji of a flower.
How did Matteo Guendouzi and his wife, Mae Rfsk become lovers and parents?
Matteo Guendouzi and his wife, Mae Rfsk started dating themselves in 2019 when the Moroccan-born French footballer was trying to establish himself at Arsenal.
Months after they started dating, they decided to publicize their relationship in July 2019. Five months after the relationship went public, Matteo Guendouzi decided to propose marriage to Mae Rfsk and she said yes.
Afterward, they decided to have a private wedding. To date, they are yet to reveal when and where they did the wedding ceremony.
However, it is believed that the wedding took place in 2020, months before Guendouzi went on loan to Hertha BSC of Germany.
Since then, it has been a smooth ride for Matteo Guendouzi and his wife, Mae Rfsk as they continue to move from country to country together.
They have been in Marseille since July 6, 2021, after Guendouzi agreed to join the French club on loan. Before then, Mae Rfsk gave birth to Mayleen in Paris in May 2021.
After Mayleen’s birth, Mae Rfsk took to Instagram to write: “It’s certainly not the most advantageous photo, but the most beautiful in my eyes and the first photo of the three of us ❤️ My happiness is immense, our daughter Mayleen was born on 7/05/21 at 7:52 p.m. to illuminate our life and give it its full meaning 🙏🏽🙏🏽😍 ps: mission accomplished, head to his mother.”
All things being equal, Matteo Guendouzi and his wife, Mae Rfsk are expected to remain in Marseille a bit longer. The French club is expected to pay Arsenal €11 million to sign Guendouzi permanently at the end of this season.
Note that since Guendouzi joined Marseille on loan in 2021, the Frenchman has played 54 games in all competitions in which he scored four goals and provided 14 assists.
Guendouzi has made three appearances and scored a goal for France national team since he made his debut for the country on November 16, 2021.
