After his imprisonment in January 2022, Greenwood, 21, hasn’t appeared for the team.

Even though the attempted rape accusations against the striker were dismissed earlier this month, United is still looking into the matter.

According to rumors, Greenwood’s suspension will last until the conclusion of the 2022–23 Premier League season.

The Crown Prosecution Service withdrew all allegations against the football player earlier last month, including attempted rape, actual bodily injury, and coercive or controlling behavior.

Twelve witnesses, including the woman at the center of the accusations, refused to cooperate, leading to this decision.

And now, according to recent reports, it has been stated that Turkish clubs and clubs with open transfer windows have inquired about loan agreements for the striker.

The MLS in the United States, Japan, and South Korea are among the nations with active transfer windows at the moment.

Yet, according to rumors, Man United is not currently looking for a deal.

Until the Red Devils conduct an internal investigation, Greenwood, who makes about £100,000 a week and has a contract through 2025, is still unable to play for United or train.

Interviews are reportedly conducted to obtain his account of the events and for physical and mental health examinations.

The club’s manager Erik Ten Hag expects that this process will be finished before the summer.

Prior to his arrest, Greenwood was seen to be one of the brightest young prospects in European football, with a market worth of roughly £50 million.

Yet, it is said that the United women’s players do not want him to rejoin the team.

The Athletic reports that “the feeling is strong” among the players that he should be fired and that this opinion is echoed by those in the men’s locker room.

It’s also been reported that his fans are unsure of his reappearance.

After his incarceration, Greenwood lost his multi-million dollar boot agreement with Nike.

Before the scandal, Greenwood has made 129 appearances for United, scoring 35 goals, and earning one England cap.

    What Happened To Mason Greenwood?

Mason Will John Greenwood, an English professional footballer who plays forward for Premier League team Manchester United, was born on October 1, 2001.

Greenwood was detained in January 2022 on suspicion of raping and assaulting a lady, and then again on suspicion of sexual assault and making death threats.

Greenwood hasn’t worked out or played for his club or his country’s side since that time. In October 2022, he was accused of trying to rape someone, assault that resulted in genuine bodily harm, and using coercive behavior.

He was initially remanded into custody on October 17 until November 21. However, on October 19, following a private hearing at Minshull Street Crown Court, he was granted bail with the requirements that he refrain from contacting witnesses, including the complainant, and that he reside at a Bowdon address.

The Crown Prosecution Service withdrew all charges against Greenwood on February 2, 2023, citing the absence of important witnesses and “new material that came to light”.
