Manchester United have prepared a 105m bid to sign a highly-rated Portuguese youngster to replace Casemiro in the summer.

Casemiro, who has seen his performance for the Red Devils tailed off alarmingly this season, is linked to a move to Saudi Arabia.

The Real Madrid legend has struggled to return to elite-level performance coupled with a series of grinding injuries that has grounded his Old Trafford career.

The 32-year-old’s underwhelming performances has been a stark contrast to his over-bloated £375,000 weekly paycheck with United.

Hence, he leads the list of out-of-favor stars set to be axed out of the squad in the wake of Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s plan to overhaul the squad in the summer.

Meanwhile, United have been linked to Portugal’s fast-rising midfield sensation Joao Neves to replace the Saudi-bound Real Madrid legend.

Neves, 23, has a release clause of £105m on his Benfica contract and United are reportedly ready to trigger the release this summer and sign the player, as per Portuguese outlet The Record.

Neves has been a standout performer for Benfica in the Portuguese topflight this season. He won the Primeira Liga Player of the Month for four consecutive months from September 2023 to December 2023, and recently earned his international call-up with the Portugal national team.

He has won four caps with the Selecao and has been tipped to ace through a heroic career at the club and international level.

United reportedly considers the youngster a top midfield priority to partner with Kobbie Mainoo, who has equally nailed home a promising career with the Red Devils.
