Real Madrid have plot a shock move for fast-rising Man United youngster Kobbie Mainoo.

The Stockport-born England youngster has enjoyed a standout campaign in the Premier League with Manchester United and has been making the headlines for his impressive individual showing way beyond his age.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag oversaw the transition of the burgeoning footballing sensation into United’s first team last season.

The Dutch considers Mainoo as a player for Man United future with his mature midfield performances.

However, United could be in for a tussle to keep Mainoo with the biggest club in Europe – Real Madrid – reportedly lining up a move for the player. According to donDario, Real Madrid are interested in a move for Mainoo as they prepare to part ways with the club’s midfield greats – Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is said to be a big fan of Mainoo and is fancying a move for the youngster this summer.

Mainoo, 18, capped his meteoric rise to the summit of his professional football career with a recent promotion to England’s senior national team.

England national team manager Gareth Southgate made the surprise swoop to call up the Manchester United academy product in the just-concluded March international break.

Mainoo sparkled on his international debut in the Three Lions 2-2 draw against Belgium at Wembley, and earned accolades from Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham.

He is in contention to make England squad for the 2024 Euros in Germany.

Mainoo’s England call-up and his upbeat debut performance must have placed him on the radar of European juggernauts like Real Madrid.

Los Blancos rarely miss out on their targeted players but it is still unclear whether they will wrest the youngster from United.

Mainoo signed a four-year contract with Manchester United in February 2023. Futballnews understands United are considering renewing terms with the youngster following his impressive outing for the club.

He has made 17 Premier League, 2 Champions League, and one EFL Cup appearance for Manchester United, scoring two goals.
