Manchester United have opened investigations into the crippling injury crisis that has rocked the team this season.

According to Transfermarkt, Manchester United have been hit with injuries 55 times this season with all players sidelined at least once except two outfield players – Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes.

It is understood the recurrent injury crisis has impacted the club’s fortunes this season with the team struggling to qualify for Champions League next season.

According to the Mirror, United’s injury problems has been a cause for concern for the club and they are set to open investigations into the crisis.

The move to probe the depths of the crisis followed a recent injury blow to Lisandro Martinez who just returned from the sidelines after an eight-week injury layoff.

Martinez, who has made just 9 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils, managing 589 minutes, this season, has struggled to and fro the sidelines with a niggling injury crisis.

He was back to action with the club in United’s 1-1 draw against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium at the weekend, coming on as a substitute for Victor Lindelof, who limped off injured.

After the game, United’s medical team confirmed the Argentine has been injured again while on training with the team on Tuesday, April 2, and will miss a month of action for the club.

Victor Lindelof, who limped off injured in the Brentford match, is also set to miss four weeks of action for the club, as per club sources.

Just like Lisandro Martinez and other top first-team players, Lindelof has grappled with incessant injuries this term with the recent blow compounding the problem.

Man United manager Erik ten Hag, who is battling the challenge of the crippling injury crisis and a slack in performance by the team’s top stars, confirmed internal investigative procedures has begun to unravel the causes of the injury.

Meanwhile, the team will hope to weather the injury burden and return to winning ways against Chelsea after the away draw to Brentford.
