The future of Manchester City winger, Leroy Sane, has finally been addressed after the club agreed to a £54.8m deal with Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich.

Sane, who turned down contract extension talks on three occasions as claimed by City’s coach, Pepe Guardiola has never hidden his admiration for the Bavarian club. He has long been touted as a replacement for Arjen Robben, who left the club last summer. The former Netherland international has linked up with Groningen.

With agreement reached between both clubs, Sane will be signing a five-year deal at the club. According to reports, Bayern will be paying an initial fee of £44.7m (€49m) with a series of performance and trophy-related add-ons. This means that the noisy neighbours will make an additional £10m (€11m) for trophies won, such as Bundesliga and Champions League titles. City could as well make some cash from personal awards for the player himself. It was also gathered that City would also be making an additional 10 percent of any profit made by the German in case they sell Sane in the future.

Manchester City cash in Leroy Sane

Sane will reportedly be getting the double of his current wage at City, which is reportedly around £20m per year. Sane is yet to play for City in the Premier League this season after suffering from a cruciate ligament knee injury in the Community Shield win over Liverpool back in August. With contract negotiations turned down, the club quickly as in on the youngster as he is about to enter the final year of his contract.

This is, therefore, good business for the club who signed him from Schalke for £37m in 2016.

 Would Sane be missed?

From the options available to Guardiola, the Spaniard might not be missing Sane. He has a flourishing attack line that has Bernado Sila on the bench. Although the versatility of the German international is top-notch as he can penetrate any defense, Guardiola has said he won’t be signing his replacement.

This will give the likes of Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva, and other likes the chance to get some game time going forward. The last of Sane could as well be seen soon with seven games left in the English Premier League and other competitions which City is still in. Throughout his active two years with Cit, Sane was able to reach double figures in goals and provided 25 assists in that time.
