Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future in Arsenal has been hanged around a cloud of uncertainty with a series of speculations surrounding his contract with the Gunners. The Gabon born player has in his contract till 2021, however, there has been a rumor that Arsenal might lose the 30-year-old striker to another team.

Former Arsenal legend, Paul Merson stated that it will be disastrous for Arsenal to lose Aubameyang to some of the top clubs in Europe who are currently eyeing the striker. Real Madrid, Manchester United and Barcelona are rumored to have interest in the striker, and considering the uncertainty of his future with Gunners, he might make a decision to exit the club.

The genesis of his uncertain future in Arsenal centers around Mesut Ozil’s weekly payment of about £350,000. Mesut Ozil is the highest-paid player in Arsenal and the 31-year-old playmaker has been linked with a transfer to Fernabache. Reasonably, Arsenal being an economically driven club is kind of skeptical in signing a new contract with Aubameyang who will certainly want an increase in his new contract.

Aubameyang who currently wants about £200,000 weekly wants his new contract to attract an increased wage, but Arsenal wouldn’t want to have two players earn such a huge amount in the club. It has now become a matter who is more important to the team, the club is looking forward to sending Mesut Ozil out on loan in order to sustain more funds for Aubameyang.

There is no doubt that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the greatest players in Arsenal. His presence in the team can not be overemphasized, oftentimes, he has scored amazing goals that saved the team from humiliating defeat and disgraceful draws.

Moreso, Mesut Ozil has enjoyed his fair share as the highest-paid player in Arsenal for a while, giving that honor to the Gabon striker would not be a bad idea from the north London club. In essence, if Arsenal should let Mesut Ozil go whether, on loan or transfer, they will have enough budget to sign a new contract with Aubameyang.
