Manchester United gaffer Erik Ten Hag is in line for a £12 million jackpot when he signs a new five-year deal this summer.
The Manchester based club will reward Ten Hag for an amazing first campaign as head coach by giving him a new contract until 2028.
The Dutchman would also receive a £3 million-a-year salary increase and the doubts over Manchester United’s ownership would not have an effect on the tabled deal.
He has shown that he is eager to sign a new three-year contract extension to the deal he penned when he arrived from Ajax in the summer of 2022.
Manchester United assigned him on a shorter term deal than past managers due to the fact that previous managers who have been handed job didn’t relatively cut it and they had to part with hefty pay-offs to dismiss them.
The Red Army have become better under the Dutchman
Erik Ten Hag has created a significant impression in only over half a season. He has already brought Manchester United back to the top four in addition to lifting the Carabao Cup in February.
The team tutored by Erik Ten Hag are favorites to win the UEFA Europa League and they also battle Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup Semi-finals.
Erik Ten Hag had conversations with the hierarchy of Manchester United recently about summer deals for the club. And he was given a confident booster by the Glazers that he would be backed by the club come this summer irrespective of who owns the team.
Discussions on his contract will be concluded once the 2022/23 footballing campaign comes to an end. Moreover, both parties do not expect any issues concerning contract talks.
Manchester United sit third on the Premier League table on 50 points and they have two games outstanding after their clash against Newcastle United on Sunday.
Ten Hag’s side face the Magpies on Sunday in the heavyweight clash slated for Sunday and definitely much is at stake as the end of the campaign draws near.
In the first leg of the encounter, Erik Ten Hag led his side to a draw at Old Trafford in a game that was marred with seemingly poor officiating and bad calls from the center referee.
The last meeting between the two sides was in the Carabao Cup final and Manchester United ran out 2-0 winners against the Toons.
Ten Hag joined Manchester United in April 2022
Erik Ten Hag signed a three-year deal worth £27 million last summer with the option of a further year but indications are pointing towards the renewal of extension talks less than a year into his reign as head coach.
Ten Hag earns £9 million per year at Manchester United but reports are suggesting that it could be improved to £12 million.
When he was appointed manager of the side in April 2022, Ten Hag said: “It is a great honour to be appointed manager of Manchester United and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead.
“I know the history of this great club and the passion of the fans, and I am absolutely determined to develop a team capable of delivering the success they deserve.
“It will be difficult to leave Ajax after these incredible years, and I can assure our fans of my complete commitment and focus on bringing this season to a successful conclusion before I move to Manchester United.”
