England International Bukayo Saka has penned an improved long-term deal with Arsenal on Tuesday, May 23.

According to reports, Saka put pen-to-paper on a four year deal that would see him stay with the Gunners until 2027.

The Englishman’s previous contract was set to end at the expiration of the next campaign.

This certainly comes as a massive boost for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta seeing how impressive Bukayo Saka has been this campaign.

He has been an integral player for the North London side in the last two campaigns, while also becoming a key part of Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

Bukayo Saka has netted 14 goals and provided 11 assists across all competitions for Arsenal this season which almost assisted them to lifting the English Premier League title.

The 21-year-old was also the Gunners top scorer last campaign scoring 11 goals across all competitions.

Saka’s remarkable season at club level has seen him nominated for the Premier League Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season awards.

The Englishman joins the likes of Aaron Ramsdale and Gabriel Martinelli in penning a new deal with Arsenal.

Bukayo Saka revealed to the club’s website how delighted he was at signing a new deal with the North London side.

He said: “I’m just really happy, there’s been a lot of talking and it’s been a while, but I’m here now.

“I think this is the right club, the right place to make the next step. It’s a beautiful club – look where we are.

“For me, it’s about achieving my personal ambitions; how much I push myself and demand from myself each game, week in, week out.

“Then I have all the right people around me in terms of family, and when I come to the training ground, my teammates, the coaching staff.

“I think I have everything I need to become the best player I can be, and that’s why I’m happy to stay here and be here for the future, because I really believe that we can achieve big things.”

Mikel Arteta also told the club’s websites how Saka’s contract extension is a great development for his side.

Arteta said: “It’s great for the club that Bukayo has extended his contract. Retaining our best young talents is key to our continued progress and Bukayo represents such an important part of our squad now and for the future.

“As well as being a fantastic talent, Bukayo is a special person, he’s loved by us all and he is a credit to himself and his family for the hard work and commitment they have all made to get to this level today.

“Together with our supporters, we’re so looking forward to enjoying Bukayo’s continued development with us in the years to come.”

He is set to earn around £300,000 per week

Bukayo Saka who has been linked with several clubs in the past including Liverpool and Manchester City is expected to get a pay rise on his current deal.

He is reportedly said to earn £200,000 per week, although it could rise to around £300,000 per week due to bonuses.

That would see the man who won the Young Player of the year award at the London Football Awards become Arsenal’s best-paid player.

This is certainly impressive news for Arsenal as they prepare to launch an assault on the Premier League title next season after losing out to Manchester City at the dying embers of the season.

Bukayo Saka is expected to be in action when Arsenal take to the field to trade tackles with Wolverhampton Wanderers as they look to end the season on a winning note.
