Bayern Munich buried internal fracas to clinch their record 11th Bundesliga title on Saturday but more shocking events are expected to unfold in the coming days.

The Bavarians roll back an inconsistent Bundesliga run under new manager Thomas Tuchel to clinch the Bundesliga title at the death, beating off the challenge from rivals Borussia Dortmund.

James Musiala late strike was enough to secure the title for the Bavarians as Borussia Dortmund stumbled to a home draw against visitors Mainz 05.

Despite the Bundesliga triumph, Bayern Munich hierachy axed club’s CEO Oliver Kahn and sport director, Hasan Salihamidzic immediately after the title win.

For over a decade, the Bayern juggernaut has wielded an unchallenged dominance over the Bundesliga. The 2022/23 campaign was a slight departure.

Series of inconsistent results in Bundesliga and the rise of Borussia Dortmund coupled with a Champions League and German Super Cup deadlock triggered a odd wobble in the club’s hierarchy.

Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic sacked ex-manager Julian Nagelsmann but their new recruit, Thomas Tuchel, performed far below expectation.

Before Julian Nagelsmann exit, Bayern Munich were on a treble. Under Thomas Tuchel the Bavarians crashed out of the Champions League, German Super Cup, and nearly lost the Bundesliga title to Borussia Dortmund.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich were set to part ways with Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic before the Bundesliga final matchday on Saturday.

Sources close to the club reveal the decision was reached on May 22 but was withheld till the end of the season.

After the Bundesliga triumph, Bayern Munich confirmed the sack of the two most powerful administrators at the club who spearheaded the sack of Julian Nagelsmann and the appointment of Thomas Tuchel as manager.

Now, with Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic axed, reports in Germany have emerged Thomas Tuchel could leave his job as Bayern Munich manager as earlier as May 29, three days after the Bundesliga triumph.

Speaking on German TV, German football pundit Dietmar Haman said;

“When you treat people like this, you have to ask yourself: do you want to work for this club? I don’t think you can rule out Tuchel leaving soon too. But he’ll leave of his own accord.”

Thomas Tuchel was appointed Bayern Munich manager in March, 2023. He signed a two-and-a-year contract with the club. Should he leave the club following the sack of Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic, it will be his shortest managerial spell so far in his career.

With Kahn and Salihamidzic out of the picture, Tuchel is more likely to end his contract with the club as per reports but nothing is certain yet.

The former Chelsea manager had hope for a fresh start to his reign next season after taking over the club midway into the season but could face trust and confidence issues by Kahn and Salihamidzic’s successors.
