    Bayern Munich have sacked both Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic as the club’s officials after Bundesliga title win.

    A club statement confirming the decision to sack the two stalwarts reads;

    “Oliver Kahn is no longer CEO of FC Bayern München AG. Hasan Salihamidžić will also be replaced as board member for sport.

    “This was decided by the club’s supervisory board. Kahn will be replaced by the current vice-chairman of the board Jan-Christian Dreesen. Salihamidžić’s successor is still to be decided.”

    As per Fabrizio Romano, the decision to sack Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic was deliberated upon by the club’s hierachy before the final matchday.

    Bayern Munich’s axe came after the club survived Borussia Dortmund scare to clinch their 11th Bundesliga title in a row.

    James Musiala’s strike made the difference as the Bundesliga giants snatch the trophy at the death at the expense of Borussia Dortmund who dropped points against Mainz 05 to crash out of the race in the final hour.

    Kahn and Salihamidzic played a big role in the dismissal of former manager Julian Nagelsmann and the appointment of Thomas Tuchel as new manager.

    Tuchel seems to have fallen far below his predecessor despite clinching the trophy. There have been concerns Kahn and Salihamidzic must have misfired in the decision to sack Julian Nagelsmann and bringing in Tuchel.
