Kylian Mbappe Wins 5th Ligue 1 Title, Player Of The Season, Breaks Silence On PSG Future


Kylian Mbappe has clinch his fourth consecutive Ligue 1 Player of the Season and 2023 Ligue 1 title with PSG after a standout performance for the club this season.

The France international and PSG talisman steered PSG to their 11th and second successive Ligue 1 crown after a draw with Strasbourg.

The French giants opened a four point gap on top of the table after garnering 85 points from 37 games with second-placed Lens raking 81 points from same number of games.

Mbappe was once again on the spotlights as PSG were confirmed French Ligue 1 champions.

Mbappe fend of the challenge from other nominees to win the French Ligue 1 Player of the Season.

Two of his teammates, Lionel Messi and Achraf Hakimi, were also nominated for the Best Player Award but the 2022 World Cup top scorer bagged the award due to his standout performance for PSG this season.

Kylian Mbappe is the only player to win French Ligue 1 Player of the Season four times.

Mbappe matched the Ligue 1 Player of the season record held by Zlatan Ibrahimovic of AC Milan last year after he clinched the award for the third time.

Kylian Mbappe is leading 2023 French Ligue 1 top scorers’ chart, having notched in 28 League goals for PSG in 33 games. He is followed by former Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette, who has 27 goals in 34 league matches for Lyon.

Mbappe also recorded five assists for PSG in the current campaign, including 7 Champions League goals.

The 24-year-old has now won four French Ligue 1 titles with PSG since joining the club. He has also won three French Cup with the club, two League Cup and three French Super Super Cup.

Kylian Mbappe debunks rumors of PSG exit

With a reignited interest from Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappe has been linked to a summer exit from PSG.

He still has a year remaining in his contract with an option of renewal. The 2018 World Cup winner slipped into run-ins with Neymar on penalty taking role. He also fell out with Kimpembe over captaincy issue. Amid the fallouts with some of his PSG teammate, reports emerged he was ready to leave the club.

Mbappe latter denied the report but it was obvious he is having a difficult time at the club despite his renewed offer which left him with much power and influence in the squad.

Recently, Kylian Mbappe blasted PSG for featuring him in the club’s promotional video without his consent, further fueling rumors of his possible exit.

After bagging the award as the French Ligue 1 Player of the Season, Kylian Mbappe laid to rest all rumors of his PSG exit.

The French youngster revealed he is happy to be a part of the PSG project and will play for the club next season.

“There are no more stories about my future”, he said.

“I’m so happy to be a part of this PSG project.

“I will be here at PSG next season.

Kylian Mbappe has a year remaining in his contract but there is is a one-year extension clause attached to the deal.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are reportedly back on the trail of the youngster after they fell out last year.
