Former Arsenal and Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubamenyang was severely injured during a robbery attack last Monday, 29 August 2023. The Gabon international is said to have suffered a broken jaw during the burglars’ attack.

It’s not the best of moments for the 33-year-old former Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, and Barcelona striker Aubamenyang. Menacing Burglars had reportedly broken into Auba’s residence in Casteldellfels – a few miles away from Barcelona.

Barcelona did not refute the incident, but they had offered a varying narrative of what actually transpired at the scene between Aubamenyang, his family, and the burglars.

Sources from the club denied that no bodily harm was done to the star striker during the attack, portraying normalcy and calm after the incident.

Meanwhile, Aubamenyang has remained silent for six days since the incident occurred just on the outskirts of Barcelona.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, 29, 2023, is said to have been brutal, involving heavily armed gangsters carrying iron bars and firearms.

Aubamenyang, his wife, and children is said to have been handcuffed in the process. They were also robbed of their expensive pieces of jewelry, with Aubamenyang sustaining severe injuries in the process.

However, Barcelona confirmed the attack but has denied any news of the striker being injured. Recent reports, as confirmed by ESPN, have disclosed that Aubamenyang sustained severe injuries in the process. He has reportedly suffered a broken jaw which will rule him out for the next three weeks.

This will likely affect Aubamenyang’s planned move to Chelsea. Recall that the Blues have been negotiating with Barcelona and have agreed to pay €20m while Barcelona insists on €25m.

The Premier League giants and Barcelona met on Tuesday, 30th August 2022, and rescheduled the meeting for today, August 31, 2022.

However, Aubamenyang’s broken jaw sustained in the process of the burglary attack may likely affect the outcome of the deal.
