Arsenal confirmed they are still negotiating with Reiss Nelson, but Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been released from the club.
The 23-year-old winger scored a match-winning goal in the 97th minute against Bournemouth in March to hand Arsenal a 3-2 win.
Maitland-Niles, 25, spent the last season on loan to Southampton, where he made 22 appearances for the relegated side.
Maitland-Niles won the Europa Conference League under Jose Mourinho while he was on loan at Italian side AS Roma.
The England International joined Arsenal at the age of 6 but went on loan to Feyenoord and Hoffenheim before becoming a regular fixture of Arsenal’s matchday squad.
Nelson on the other hand has played 34 times in the Premier League since 2017-18 after making his Arsenal debut at age 17.
Reiss Nelson
Reiss Luke Nelson is an English footballer who was born on 10 December, 1999 and plays as a winger for Arsenal.
The English winger was born in Elephant and Castle, London.
Nelson grew up in Aylesbury Estate in Walworth and attended the London Nautical School.
The winger became friends with fellow aspiring footballer Jadon Sancho, who lived nearby after they played together in youth tournaments.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles
Ainsley Cory Maitland-Niles is an English footballer who was born on 29 August 1997 and plays as a central midfielder or full-back.
He was born in Goodmayes, Greater London, raised in Edmonton, North London, and attended Oaks Park High School, Ilford.
Maitland-Niles grew up in a single-parent family with his mother, Jule Niles, and his brother, Cordi and he is of Jamaican descent.
The English player spent the 2015–16 season on loan at Ipswich Town and the second half of the 2020–21 and 2021-22 seasons on loan at West Bromwich Albion and Roma respectively.
