It is double summer transfer hit for Arsenal as the London club complete the signing of Kai Havertz while having their record offer for Declan Rice accepted by West Ham.

Taking to the club’s social media handle, Arsenal confirmed the signing of Kai Havertz, unveiling the German international as the club’s new player.

Arsenal signed Kai Havertz for £65m from Chelsea after agreeing personal terms with the player and completing medical over the weekend.

Being the club’s first signing this summer, Kai Havertz will be expected to replace Arsenal duo, Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey, who are set to leave the club this summer.

Chelsea were open to the exit of Kai Havertz but wanted a significant offer to let the player leave as they continue in their summer overhaul.

Real Madrid were reportedly interested in Havertz before pulling out with Arsenal the only concrete destination for the former Chelsea star.

Kai Havertz was keen on Chelsea exit and wanted to join Arsenal after being briefed of the Arsenal project by Mikel Arteta.

Havertz has signed a long term contract with Arsenal and will wear the no.29 shirt as revealed by Arsenal. He will join the team’s preseason in July and is expected to step into the shoes of Partey and Granit Xhaka who are leaving the club this summer.

Arsenal first tabled £80m bid for Declan Rice which was turned down by West Ham United. The Gunners then increased the offer by £10m, tabling a club record £90m bid for Rice which was again rejected by West Ham.

After Arsenal’s second bid for Rice was rejected, Manchester City entered the race officially tabling an opening £90m bid for the player.

Manchester City’s opening bid for Rice set the stage for a bidding war with Arsenal with reports emerging the Premier League champions are ready to rival Arsenal on the race to sign Declan Rice.

West Ham United also rejected Manchester City’s bid for Rice with Arsenal ready to offer a third bid after studying the rival bid from City.

After the three rounds of bid by the two clubs, Arsenal tabled a British record third offer worth £105m for Declan Rice; £100m transfer fee, and £5m add-ons.

Arsenal’s third offer for Declan Rice met West Ham United’s £100 to £120m valuation of Declan Rice but the London neighbors did not react to the offer immediately.

Sources close to the club revealed West Ham were waiting for Manchester City to react to Arsenal’s third offer and submit another bid for Rice as they aimed to sell the England star to the highest-bidder.

However, in a shock move, Manchester City have pulled out of the race and are not ready to submit another offer for Rice after Arsenal’s record £105m offer.

The withdrawal of City set the stage for Arsenal to poach Declan Rice to the red side of London as the club’s second signing after Kai Havertz from Chelsea.

Now reports reaching us from Fabrizio Romano has confirmed West Ham have finally accepted Arsenal’s £105m bid for Declan Rice.

The two clubs are now discussing the structure of payment with West Ham expecting Arsenal to complete the £100m transfer fee in 18 months.
