The manager of Leicester City, Brendan Rodgers does not like the idea of replacing the coach of Manchester United Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He believes that the rumor linking him with the Manchester United job is disrespectful to Solskjaer who he described as a good man.

Recall that before the November break, Solskjaer’s job at Manchester United has been under threat due to the inconsistency of the club especially in the Premier League.

The 5-0 home defeat at the hands of Liverpool and the 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Manchester City made most Manchester United fans demand the sacking of Solskjaer.

Even though the club’s board insisted that there was no plan to sack the Norwegian coach, names of different coaches have been thrown up as his possible replacement. The two top candidates on the list are the current coach of Leicester City, Brendan Rodgers, and the former coach of Real Madrid Zinedine Zidane.

But ahead of Leicester City Premier League game against Chelsea scheduled to kick off at 13:30 on Saturday, November 20, Brendan Rodgers distanced himself from the speculation.

While addressing reporters on Thursday, November 18, Brendan Rodgers insisted that he is focused on the job he has to do at Leicester City and focused on the game against Chelsea.

He said: “There are two things. Firstly, it’s really disrespectful for you to ask the question when you have a manager in place, a good manager and a good man, who is working for the club.

“Secondly, I can’t really comment on it because it is something that is not real. I am here as the Leicester City manager, I’m proud to be here, privileged to be here, and fully committed to the players, the club, the ownership.

“That’s about it really. All the other noise around that is something that we can’t control. I’ve focused as I have done in my career, so the only club I’m thinking about is Chelsea and getting ready for that…

“It’s obviously frustrating I would say for supporters and also my players, if anyone is to read anything that maybe has been out there, then, of course, that can destabilize.

“It’s something that, certainly from a personal perspective, is in the modern game, and even much more so now – lots of speculation, lots of gossips.

“It is all part of the game but it is something that I have got no focus on whatsoever.”

Brendan Rodgers and his boys are expected to defeat Chelsea when they visit King Power Stadium on Saturday to improve their ranking on the league table.

Leicester City are currently sitting on the 12th spot with 15 points in 11 games after recording 4 wins, 3 draws, and 4 defeats.

On the other hand, Chelsea football club are currently topping the league table with 26 points in 11 games, three points above second-placed Manchester City.
