Maduka Okoye has revealed his favorite musician between two of Nigeria’s biggest music stars, David Adeleke, also known as Davido, and Damini Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy.
During a recent interview with Germany-based Nigerian journalist Oma Akatugba, Okoye was asked to pick between Davido and Burna Boy.
Maduka Okoye expressed that Burna Boy is a fantastic musician and he listens to many of his music however he insisted that he listens to more of Davido’s songs.

Speaking during the conversatory interview with Oma Sports TV, the Udinese goalkeeper said: “Burna Boy or Davido? Davido. Musically, Burna Boy is on another level, 100 percent. He’s a top artist but I prefer Davido.”
The 24-year-old also indicated that he is more connected to songs of Davido as they fit his personality, whilst also expressing that the musician’s music is “very playful”.
Okoye added: “I listen more to Davido than Burna Boy. There are Burna Boy’s songs that I love but there is more of Davido on my playlist.
“Davido’s songs fit my personality; they are very playful. I really like Davido.”
Davido is one of Nigeria’s biggest music exports in history and one of the greatest musicians on the continent.
The 31-year-old was born in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A on November 21, 1992, and he is regarded as one of the most important Afrobeats artists of the 21st century, for popularizing the genre across the world.
Davido has been active since 2011 and he has won several high-profile awards alongside being nominated at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards for hit jam “Unavailable”, “Feel” and his album “Timeless”.
Meanwhile, Burna Boy was born on July 2, 1991, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria and he is one of the biggest musicians to come out of the most populous African country.
Burna Boy has been active since 2010 and he has also won many top individual prizes, including clinching the Grammy Awards for Best Global Music Album in 2021 for “Twice as Tall”.
These two certainly divide opinions globally, as some opine that one is better than the other, while others choose to enjoy the brilliance they accentuate without comparison.
