Brendan Rodgers has reportedly agreed to a long-term deal that would see him return to Celtic as Manager for the new season.
Futballnews understands that the paperwork is being finalized and an announcement is scheduled for this week.
Rodgers, 50, won 7 trophies in his first spell at the club, including back-to-back domestic trebles, but left for Leicester City midway through the 2018/19 season.
The move to Premier League team Leicester City was to the dismay of Celtic fans and they will be ecstatic to have him back.
Brendan Rodgers is reported to have agreed a deal which is higher than his previous contract with the club, which will make him the highest-paid manager in the club’s history again.
Celtic’s board on the other hand will back Northern Irishman in the transfer market to help him achieve domestic success and also, compete in the Champions League.
Rodgers will replace Ange Postecoglou, who won consecutive league titles and a domestic treble last season before joining Tottenham.
Brendan Rodgers was recently linked to the vacant job at Leeds United after saying he wanted to take a break following his departure from Leicester City in April.
The Northern Irishman will led Celtic players for pre-season training at the club’s Lennoxtown base before jetting out to Japan on tour in July.
Yokohama F Marinos will be their first opponents on July 19 followed by a match against Gamba Osaka on July 22.
After which he will probably lead them to South Korea where they will play Wolves at the Suwon World Cup Stadium on July 26.
Celtic will kick off their title defense on the weekend of August 5/6 before Champions League group-stage match on September 19/20.

Brendan Rodgers is a Northern Irish football manager and former player who was born on 26 January 1973 and is currently manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic.
The Irishman began his career as a defender at Ballymena United, where he stayed until he was signed by Reading at the age of 18, although a genetic knee condition forced him to retire at age 20.
Managerial Journey
Brendan Rodgers remained a coach at Reading, then an academy director, and continued to play non-league football at Newport, Witney Town and Newbury Town for several years.
After travelling to Spain to study, he was invited by José Mourinho to leave Reading and join Chelsea as youth manager in 2004, later being promoted to reserve manager in 2006.
He was appointed Watford manager in 2008 before going back to become manager of his former club Reading in 2009.
He coached Swansea City in 2010, leading the club to promotion to the Premier League, becoming the first Welsh team to do so, before guiding them to finish 11th the following season.
He was dismissed as Liverpool coach in 2015 then went on to become manager of Celtic in May 2016 and led them to an undefeated domestic season in his first year, and trebles in both of his first two seasons.
He subsequently left Celtic to become Leicester City manager in February 2019, winning the 2021 FA Cup in his second full season, before he left by mutual consent in April 2023.
After the whole journey, Brendan Rodgers is set to become Celtic manager again ahead of the new season.
