    Romelu Lukaku has turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Pro League and is ‘annoyed’ with Chelsea over transfer saga.

    Lukaku fell out of favor with then-Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel and returned to Inter Milan on loan during the 2022/23 campaign.

    Whilst at Inter Milan, the Belgium international was a vital team member and helped Milan reach its first Champions League final in 13 years.

    Lukaku, 30, want to spend another season in Italy but Chelsea are not looking to send him out on loan again.

    Reports have it that Romelu Lukaku is frustrated at Chelsea’s position especially with no other major European club showing an interest in his services at this stage of the transfer window.

    Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared an insight to Lukaku’s transfer saga on his social media account, recently, stressing that the Belgian still wants more European football.

    He said: “Understand Romelu Lukaku has decided to continue in Europe despite important proposal from Saudi.”

    “Lukaku appreciated the effort but he’s not ready yet to leave European football at this stage of his career.”

    “Direct communication has been sent as Rom’s now prepared to work on new season in European football.”

    “Inter want Lukaku to stay, he loves Inter but they’ve ball in their court — no agreement yet with Chelsea.”

    Chelsea new manager, Mauricio Pochettino, is desperate to reduce his squad ahead of the start of pre-season and the Belgian might be axed.

    Chelsea are also looking to resolve the futures of players Pochettino has seen as surplus to requirements before the end of this month to comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.

    Chelsea are also looking to make some money from the Saudi league by selling Edouard Mendy to Al-Ahli and Hakim Ziyech to Al-Nassr.

    Koulibaly, is in negotiations for a move to Al-Hilal worth €30m per year despite Inter Milan’s recent interest.

    The Blues would gladly sell Lukaku to the Saudi clubs too, but the Belgium international does not want to play for another club aside Inter Milan.
