However, after she asked him to come over to her room, Williams Kokolo raped the 24-year-old student in the room.

Based on what the Jurors were told, it was alleged that she found him in his underwear.

The Burton Albion star is said to have forced the student to give him bl*w job prior to having coitus with her as she begged him to stop.

Williams Kokolo allegedly “picked up a small pillow and forced it into her mouth”, he also kept telling the lady to “shush”.

The alleged victim said after he had completed the act, Kokolo saw her sitting on her bed with her head in full custody of her hands and asked: “What’s wrong baby girl?”

He afterwards left the apartment in the Aston area of the city in the night and the student said she later reported to the police.

She also told her former boyfriend what had transpired. Speaking with police officers, the lady expressed how Kokolo had treated her “like a piece of garbage” to get “what he wanted.”

Williams Kokolo, the French-born defender penned a deal with Burton Albion from Borough in January 2022.

He went on trial indicted of three counts of rape at Coventry Crown Court on the 14th of June 2023.

Commencing the hearing, prosecutor Nicholas Tatlow said: “The defendant is a footballer for Burton Albion, the complainant had been in a relationship but at the time had broken up.”

Prosecutor Nicholas Tatlow said the lady had made plans for Williams Kokolo to pick her up in Birmingham.

He said: “In her contact with Mr Kokolo they spoke to each other. And on one occasion she arranged for him to pick her up in Birmingham after a night out.

“But she stood him up at the last minute after her friends said to her she should not meet him.”

Nicholas Tatlow basically described the entire incident from the time they met, the alleged rape and what occured afterwards.

He continued: “She went to a student party near to her own student accommodation. During the evening she contacted the defendant to ask him to come meet her.

“She wanted to meet him to talk and she made it clear that she did want there to be any sexual activity.

“They were at a ‘getting to know you stage’ of what might go on to become a relationship.

“They met outside, he told her she smelled of drink, she told him she was drunk.

He added: “They went up to her flat.

“She went to the toilet and came out to see the defendant stripped to his boxer shorts.”

It was also said that the lady told Kokolo that she wanted no sexual activity with the footballer, despite the fact that she did bend over to kiss him.

In continuation: “But what she did do was tell him she wanted no sexual activity. Not withstanding that she did lean in to kiss him as that seemed to be what he wanted.

“Instead of a kiss, he forced her head.

How the Burton Albion defender allegedly took off her underwear, raped her and left her apartment in the middle of the night was also narrated.

“He took off her underwear ignoring her protests. He was on top of her, she tried to push him off but she couldn’t.

“She tried to scream but he picked up a small pillow and forced it into her mouth. He turned her around and penetrated her from behind.

“Then he stopped and again forced her head down… He let go of her, she went to the bathroom, came back and he was asleep.

“She too lay down on the bed as far away as she could and went to sleep.

“During the night she heard a noise as the defendant got out of bed and left.”

It was also said that she messaged the defender accusing him of rape, but he didn’t reply the message.

Meanwhile, during an interview with the cops which was played to the court, the 24-year-old lady whose name was withheld for legal reasons, was heard saying: “I asked him to come to the party so we could get to know each other.

“I told him I didn’t want to do anything sexual and he said that was fine.”

In a part of the interview, she was heard saying: “Then he kept pushing my head down. He then takes off my thong and he didn’t even try to kiss me or do foreplay or even ask me if I wanted to do it.

“He just kept forcing himself on me. I was trying to push him off me. He kept telling me to shush.

“I was saying ‘no’ and stuff to him and then he turned me around and thrusted from behind and then I kept making noise and he kept saying shush.”

She also expressed in her own words how aggrieved she felt over the incident as she didn’t have the strength to push him away.

“I was disgusted I couldn’t be fully in control to push him off. And I was sat on the edge of my bed and I took off my dress.

“He hadn’t even took that off, he just treated me like a piece of garbage to get what he wanted.”
