Liverpool football club was finally given their Premier League trophy on Wednesday after defeating Chelsea football club 5-3 at Anfield, their home stadium. Since last night until the time of publishing this report, the social media has been awash with pictures from the trophy presentation and Liverpool’s celebrations.
Almost all the football stars at the club have taken to their various social media platforms to celebrate their historic Premier League triumph in their own unique ways.
One of those social media posts which stood out so far was that of Roberto Firmino, a 28-year-old winger of the club. The Brazilian decided to go religious in his celebration. He posted a picture where he knelt in the middle of his Brazilian counterpart Fabinho and Egyptian Mohamed Salah. The football stars knelt and pointed their figures to the sky in an attempt to reference “God” in their triumph.
In the caption, Firmino quoted Romans 11:36, a Bible verse which says: “For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen.” He spelt out the Bible verse in Portuguese.
In the other hand, Virgil van Dijk, a 29-year-old Netherlands and Liverpool defender also took to social media to celebrate the Premier League triumph in a unique way. He used the victory to reflect on his humble beginning as a poor kid who worked hard to get to where he is. And dedicated the Premier League title to Liverpool.
He wrote: “Just a boy from Breda who became a Premier League champion. This is a dream come true, but also an opportunity for me to help every child in the world remember that anything is possible. Hard work and persistence! Don’t let anyone’s ignorance, hatred or negativity stop you from becoming the best version of yourself. Thanks to my family, fans, teammates and the staff. Liverpool, this one’s for you! “
In the case of Sadio Mane, he spent most parts of the celebration filming almost every moment of the night using his phone. In the process, he caught up with Frank Lampard, the manager of Chelsea, in the tunnel of Anfield stadium.

The excited 28-year-old Senegalese winger continued firming as Lampard decided to show some respect to one of the most consistent players in the Premier League. He walked up to Mane and gave him a hug while they exchange pleasantries.

The captain of Liverpool football club, Jordan Henderson who did not feature in the club’s match against Chelsea due to injury, was not left out of the celebration. He was led to the podium to receive the trophy as the captain of the club who won the Premier League title for the club for the first time in 30 years.
After the celebration at Anfield, he took to his Twitter handle and shared a picture from the celebration which he captioned: “Anything is possible. Never stop believing. Premier League Champions 2019/20”.

Jurgen Klopp described Liverpool’s Victory as absolutely special
The manager of Liverpool, Jurgen club said in his post-match interview on Wednesday night that the historic Premier League triumph was “absolutely special” for him. He noted that the 5-3 win against Chelsea, a club battling for a Champions League qualification, made the night more special for him and the team.
“We all know it could have been different”, Jurgen Klopp said. “It could have been worse, for example, if we never won the game.
“The boys gave us the opportunity to have a really special night. I think a lot of people thought before the game one team fights for the Champions League, the other team is maybe already on the beach.
“But these boys are so special. I could not be more proud. Throwing a performance like this in on the pitch tonight… it was an open game but nice, nice goals.
“Incredible goals, super footballing moments. I loved the game. We could enjoy it and we will enjoy the rest of the night.”
Liverpool will travel to Newcastle on Sunday to play their last game in the Premier League and their last game in all competitions in the 2019-2020 season. They currently have 96 points in 37 Premier League games.
