Just like other 19 clubs in the English Premier League, Manchester United has submitted his list of 9 players that the club has released to go as free agents. This means that they can join any club that is willing to accept them without attracting any transfer fee from Manchester United. This also means that the players don’t longer have bidding contract with Manchester United.

It is a matter of policy for each club in the league to submit the list of the players they are retaining and those they are releasing towards the end of every season. This season, the Premier League gave all the clubs on or before June 23rd to submit the two lists.

However, it took the league about three days to publish the released players’ lists of the 20 clubs. In the list published on the Premier League official website, the league explained that even if a player has been said to be a free agent, his status could change before next season.

Manchester United didn’t Release Angel Gomes

Angel Gomes is not one of the players Manchester United released
Angel Gomes

Surprisedly, the name of Angel Gomes whose contract will expire in few days time was not found on the list of released players. The 19-year-old former England under-18 star has been offered a deal to keep him at the club a little longer but the football star is yet to sign it.

As it stands, if Angel Gomes fails to sign the new deal before his current contract expires, he will become a free agent and Manchester United will only have to pay a little compensation fee for him to move on.

Most of the players United released were the graduates of the club’s academy who were offered contracts but couldn’t break into the senior team. They mostly played in the United youth team and some of them have been on loan to some lower league clubs.

Chelsea Release Willian

Willian is among the players Chelsea has released for this season.
Willian

The biggest star that is among the players that have been released his Chelsea’s Willian. The 31-year-old Brazil international has been so unsettled at the club because Chelsea refused to give him the three years contract he demanded.

The manager of the club, Frank Lampard has admitted that the club has offered him a two-year contract but failed to accept it and the club couldn’t go further than that. He will however stay and play for the club until the 2019-2020 season is over due to the contract extension he has signed.

Below are the players all the Premier League clubs have released for this season. Those that contract extension is indicated after their names will have to wait until this season is over before they can leave for another club.
