Juventus forward Paulo Dybala has finally recovered fully from the dreaded coronavirus infection after his two latest tests came back negative.

The 26-year-old Juventus and Argentina national team forward had a devastating and long month of April after he tested positive four times within the month. He and his girlfriend Oriana Sabatini confirmed that they had contracted the coronavirus on March 21 and they have been self-isolating since then.

The confirmation made Dybala the third footballer in Juventus to contract the virus after Italian defender Daniele Rugani and French midfielder Blaise Matuidi were confirmed carriers of the virus. Rugani and Matuidi fully recovered from the dreaded virus over two weeks ago bringing attention to Paulo Dybala whose case lasted for one month and two weeks.

When the Juventus star first announced that he and his girlfriend had contracted the virus, he said he was asymptomatic. Weeks later, he reaffirmed that he and his girlfriend were still not feeling any symptom. However, he didn’t test negative for the virus.

The fact that he kept affirming that he was feeling perfect and his tests were still returning positive gave supporters of the club reasons to worry until the club announced on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, that the footballer has fully recovered.

“Paulo Dybala performed, as per protocol, a double-check with diagnostic tests (swabs) for Coronavirus-COVID 19, which came back with negative results,” Juventus announced on Wednesday. “The player has, therefore, recovered and will no longer be subjected to the home isolation regime.”

“Many people talked in the past weeks … but I can finally confirm that I am healed”, he tweeted. Thank you once again for your support and my thoughts on all who are still suffering from it. Take care!”

He also posted a picture on Instagram where he posed like a man who has been allowed outside for the first time in years. “My face says it all, I’m finally cured of Covid-19”, he captioned it in Italian. He failed to mention the status of his girlfriend.
