Footie ace and French footballing icon Zinedine Zidane is close to returning to the dugout after his sabbatical

Zidane has tarried on his sabbatical after he voluntarily left his role as Real Madrid manager in 2021. It was the second time, he had exited the Real Madrid job after he did so in 2018 and returned the next year in 2019.

It was his first stint as first-team manager with the Los Blancos but a terrific and successful one. He won the Champions League three times with the club, including the LaLiga title and Copa Del Rey.

However, in a shocking move, the Real Madrid and France footballing legend decided to call it a quit and stay off football management for as many as three years.

Now, there are reports he is ready to return to the dugout with an opening in a top club in the Bundesliga.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Bayern Munich are closing in on appointing the football veteran as their new manager with the imminent exit of Thomas Tuchel.

Recall the Bundesliga giants chose to end their collaboration with Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season, following a series of underwhelming performances by the team midway through the season.

The report by Deportivo adds almost all terms have been agreed upon between Bayern Munich and Zidane with the three-time Champions League winner ready to return to the dugout.

Bayern Munich’s swift move for Zinedine Zidane followed the club’s inability to secure the return of Julian Nagelsmann, who has signed a new contract with Germany national team.

Zidane will be expected to take over from Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich at the end of the season but other parts of the agreement will have to be sorted out.
