West Ham United have signed Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse after selling the Englishman to the Gunners this summer.

Recall we reported that Declan Rice completed his transfer to Arsenal for a club record fee of £100 million ($130m) deal with an additional £5m in add-ons.

The former West Ham midfielder has been with the Hammers since he was 14 years old when he first joined the academy.

Before he joined Arsenal, he broke into the first team at the age of 17 and ended as captain of the side, winning both the club’s Young Player and Player of the Year award three times.

Declan Rice made 245 total appearances for West Ham United, and even captained the club to the victorious Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina, ending the club’s long wait for a trophy.

The former West Ham United midfielder established himself as one of English football’s best midfielders before moving to Arsenal.

He also became the third -most expensive signing by a British club (behind Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo) in the process.

He also became the seventh-most expensive signing in football history, joining some notable names at the top of the list.

West Ham United did not hesitate in using the money gotten from the sale of Declan rice to Arsenal to rebuild their midfield.

The Hammers signed Mexican midfielder Edson Alvarez from Ajax in a deal thought to be worth about £35m.

The 25-year-old was a central figure in the Mexican side that won the Concacaf Gold Cup in the United States this summer.

Alvarez was the club’s first signing of the summer following the departure of Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105m.

Speaking on joining West Ham United, Alvarez said: “It’s a hugely sentimental moment for me in my career – it is a dream for me and my family.”

“The Premier League is a special league, the best league in the world and I think my style will suit it.”

“I now have a responsibility to West Ham and the West Ham family and I will give absolutely everything for the shirt.”

Secondly, they signed James Ward-Prowse for £30 million on a four-year deal from Southampton and he has gone off the mark.

The English midfielder assisted in his first match for West Ham United and also scored in his second match for the club.

Futballnews reported that the deal for Ajax’s Kudus, is understood to be worth around £38m (€44.5m) including add-ons.

West Ham is said to pay an initial €41.5m (£35.59m) and €3m (£2.57m) in performance-related add-ons.

However, there were reports that an unnamed Premier League club also submitted a late bid to sign Kudus on Saturday, but his mind was made up to join the Hammers.

Kudus, who will wear the No 14 shirt at West Ham, spoke about his new team, saying, “I’ve been dreaming to play in a league like this since I was a kid.”

“I’ve been dreaming of this moment and I’m so happy to be here. But it doesn’t stop here, I want to keep going.”
