Newcastle United Vs Manchester City is another cracker to watch out for in the Premier League matchday six clash.

The Magpies will welcome the league leaders to St James Park on Saturday, September 28, 2024, for a rollercoaster matchup in the England top flight.

Both teams would be looking to get back to winning ways after setbacks in their last fixtures. Newcastle United suffered their first defeat of the season away to Fulham while Manchester City saw their perfect start to the league campaign come to an end with a 2-2 draw against Arsenal.

Eddie Howe’s men started the season well, opening their campaign with a 1-0 home win against Southampton. The result was followed with a 1-1 away draw at Bournemouth.

They hosted Tottenham next and came out victorious, winning 2-1 against the London club. The Tyne-based outfit was also on the positive side of another 2-1 result against Wolves. After Wolves win, their strong start to the season was ended with a 3-1 defeat to Fulham.

Three wins in five games see Newcastle at sixth on the Premier League table. The Magpies know they must improve on their last performance if they are to come out with anything against City’s free-scoring attack led by Erling Haaland.

Manchester City matches

Manchester City have started the season on a great note. They are unbeaten in all their five games into the season, winning four and drawing one.

They opened their campaign with a 2-0 victory against Chelsea before thrashing 4-1 Ipswich City 4-1 in the second match.

Against West Ham United in the third match, it ended in a 3-1 victory before a 2-1 win over Brentford. Arsenal are the only team to have stopped the Guardiola machine from taking all three points so far.

The Gunners nearly inflicted the Premier League champions with their first defeat of the season before John Stones’ last-minute equalizer pegged the visitors to a 2-2 draw and salvaged a point for the home side at the death.

Erling Haaland has been the main man for the Manchester-based club, threateningly whipping defenses into submission with his goal-scoring heroics.

The Norwegian has scored in every league game played so far this season, scoring ten times in five outings. This is an astonishing return that must be necessarily checked by Newcastle United should they want to come out with at least a point in the match.

Manchester City dominate the Toons on the all-time head-to-head record. The two teams have met 31 times in all competitions with the Citizens recording a bullying 25 wins while Newcastle United have managed only three wins.

The story has been the same in recent times. City have won four out of the last six meetings while Newcastle have won once. 16 goals have been recorded in the last six meetings between the two teams. This is a strong indicator we might be in for goals on Saturday.

Kevin De Bruyne remains a big doubt for City, with the Belgian still battling a groin injury. Nathan Ake and Oscar Bobb are also expected to be out.
